It is with great sadness that we must report that David WM Pike (3rd May 1946 - 8th March 2026), lovingly known to us all as Pikey, has passed away after a short illness.
There are many things that made David special but of particular note were his 'On the Trail' Match Day Programme which was the envy of many a club, along with his legendary match reports which appeared within and in the local newspaper. He was honest in his reporting and his views on occasion caused ruptions in the dressing room, but they were always entertaining and made very worthwhile reading. It takes great commitment and tenacity to write and produce what have now become historically significant annals of our club and for that he will always be remembered.
His funeral will be held at Macclesfield Crematorium on Monday 23rd March at 10.00am. Members of WRUFC are warmly invited to attend and are welcomed at the Club afterwards from 11.30am.
